Everyone was calling out for a striker and left back in the last window. We didn't buy either and that decision is killing us. I cannot stand watching Masuaku. His positioning is so bad, he ball watches and can't tackle. Honestly it's like carrying that awful player in a Sunday league game because only 11 players turned up. I honestly have no idea why Moyes persists with him, he gives away a minimum of 2 chances a game.

Thought a lot of the stuff we played last night was good, considering the lack of first teamers.
Goals we're a bit messy, and the defending at times, made them look..decent.
Still in the Europa and in there. We can get some players back will be okay.

Moyes made a point of saying before the game that he tested positive a while ago, so hopefully his 10 days will be over by Boxing Day.
I thought rules have changed... 7 day isolation now isn't??

Our biggest issue is the idiot left backs inability to play the position and prevent 4 chances a half coming from his side, and his inability to communicate with the centre back next to him and the midfielder in front of him. Oh and he can't shoot, can't cross, can't pass, can't track, can't anticipate, can't head, can't clear his lines and can't lift the ball higher than 5 yards to cut out the first man.
But he can dribble. A bit.

Twice in two weeks we have lost to a 'bigger' London rival from North London who have resorted to cheating, timewasting and generally snidey behviour.
There is absolutely zero class in elite modern football and they cheating, play acting, time wasting and generally cuntiness is putting me right off modern, elite football. All this alongside incompetent/bent/corrupt officiating in favour of certain clubs.
Even one of our raw British youth team players, Ashby, took a blatant dive in an attempt to con a penalty last night. Embarrassing and depressing that young lads grow up thinking this kind of behaviour is acceptable.

Not sure why you would get rid of Fredricks, Lanzini and Diop?
Fredricks hasnt put a foot wrong whenever he's played. Lanzini has been pretty good and Diop has been ok. Not sure we would find better than those 3 for our money.
Our teams biggest problem is actually at the front these days. Whereas last season I think we were letting in more goals, we were also scoring pretty much every game. Now in games I wonder if we will get anything. We dont look threatening anymore.

FCJ agree with you mate don't like to knock youngsters and would have to see him play a few more times, but based on last night's performance I didn't think he did well, when he lost the ball he didn't seem to chase after it you expect youngsters to be full of emergy and hungry and he didn't look like it at all, but like I say early days

The knicker wetting nonsense on here last night and this morning only shows how little some know!
Considering we were at less than half strength and they were full strength we played pretty well and dominated the game. Just a bit toothless upfront but everyone except Moyes has known this for the last 12 months. Why would we sell Diop who had a decent game, one of our only 2 fit CBs?

Absolutely hate losing to that lot but thought the performance on the whole was good, the two goals were poor defensively but had Lloris not had a blinder we could of easily drew the game.
2nd half they shat themselves and sat in, if we had a bit more quality going forward we would of got a result. That was the difference, Bergwin was direct and caused problems and had a goal threat. Our attacking players behind Bowen didnt. Vlasic showed some really good touches and dribbles but yet again he doesnt ever look like scoring. I dont get why we spent £30m on him and not Lingard.
Would have left Lanzini on too, Fornals is not going to get you a goal more then Manu. Thought Manu played well, took it in tight areas and give it a go going forward. Also thought Ashby was impressive if not at times playing it a little too safe and easy…..but didnt look out of place at all.
Rice was best player on the pitch, using the cash we get wisely will determine if we stay a top 6/7 club. There is a huge hole to fill when he departs and last night only emphasised that.
Cant win them all, onto Southampton…..is Antonio covid ?? If so he misses whole of xmas period?

Diop, Lanzini, Yarmolenko and Masuaku.
Alongside Fredericks and Randolph.
All should be shipped out in January and replacements found. (None needed for Fredericks and Randolph due to Ashby and Martin/Trott).
Tarkowski, Berge, Lingaard, Richards (loan) and Bayo.

The silver lining here I think is that we are having our "season crisis" jut before the transfer window. We are battling through. No one is totally spanking us despite losing 5 first choice players. Our resolve, our attitude and determination is still there.
I'm just praying the board and Moyes spend properly and early in this window. We are really missing a cutting edge at the front. Someone who knows how to get busy in their box and is clinical
Too many wayward shots from our team these days. We cant keep missing the goal like this anymore if we want to stay in the top 6 let alone top 4.
The cavalry needs to turn up in Jan and win the war for us this season.
